Account & Data Deletion
Deleting Your Account & Data from Odyvel
Delete Through the App
Follow these steps to permanently delete your Odyvel account and all associated data:
- Open Odyvel and go to the You tab.
- Scroll to App information.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm, then type DELETE when asked. The second step exists because the first cannot be undone: it erases everything stored under your account on our servers, along with the copy on this device.
Request by Email
If you prefer, or if you can no longer sign in, you can ask us to delete it for you:
- Send a deletion request to [email protected].
- Include the email address linked to your Odyvel account, so we can verify the request belongs to you.
- We respond within 30 days. We may ask one further question to confirm your identity before erasing anything, because a deletion cannot be undone.
What Data Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following is permanently removed:
- Your account, your first name, and any linked sign-in
- Every trip: destination, dates, and the answers you gave
- All lesson progress, accuracy and XP history
- Your daily goals and streak record
- Your passport and every stamp in it
- Your phrasebook and your Mistakes jar
What Is Not Deleted, and Why
- Shared destination content. The lessons written for a city are shared by everyone travelling there and describe the place, not you. They remain.
- Anonymous destination counts. These are keyed by a one-way hash and were never joined to your account, so there is nothing in them to identify or remove.
- Records our providers must keep. Apple and RevenueCat retain subscription and transaction records to meet accounting and tax obligations. We do not control those schedules.
Important Information
- Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it first in your Apple Account settings, or it will continue to renew.
- You can use Odyvel without ever creating an account. If you never signed in, nothing of yours was stored under an account in the first place, and deleting the App removes what is on the device.
