Privacy Policy

Hysa Tech ("we", "our", or "us") operates Odyvel: Learn Travel Phrases (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what the App collects, why, who else is involved, and what you can do about it. Odyvel turns an upcoming trip into a short daily course, so most of what it knows about you exists for one reason: to make that course about your destination, and to hand your progress back if you change phones. By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The Short Version

  • You can use Odyvel with no details at all. It starts you on an anonymous account and never asks for your email unless you choose to sign in.
  • What we hold is your first name, your trip (city and date), and your learning progress.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your progress to train any model.
  • On iOS, nothing is shared for advertising unless you allow tracking when asked. Saying no costs you nothing in the App.
  • You can delete everything from inside the App. See Account & Data Deletion.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Your first name, asked once when you meet Ody and used to address you in the App.
  • Your trip: the destination city you pick, the date you land, who is travelling with you, and what you want most from the trip. These decide which lessons you get and in what order.
  • Account details, only if you create an account. Odyvel begins with an anonymous account that needs nothing from you. If you choose to sign in so your progress follows you to another device, we receive the identifier from Sign in with Apple or Google, or the email address you sign in with. Sign in with Apple's Hide My Email is supported, and where you use it we never see your real address.
  • Destination searches you type, which are sent to Google's Gemini models to resolve a real place and write its content.

2.2 Your Progress

Lessons you have finished, exercises you got right and wrong, XP earned, daily goals met, passport stamps, and the phrases in your phrasebook. This is stored on your device first, so a lesson finishes whether or not the network answers. If you are signed in, a copy is also stored under your account so a new phone can hand your journey back.

2.3 Collected Automatically

  • Usage events. Which screens you open and which actions you take, recorded through Firebase Analytics against your account identifier. We never attach your name, your email, or anything you typed to these events.
  • Crash reports. When Odyvel crashes, Firebase Crashlytics records the device model, the operating system version, a stack trace and your account identifier, so the fault can be found and fixed. It carries nothing you typed and nothing about your journey.
  • Purchase state. Whether you hold an active subscription or trial, through RevenueCat and the App Store.
  • Advertising identifiers, only with your permission. On iOS, Odyvel asks once whether you allow tracking. If you decline, no advertising identifier is collected and none is shared. If you allow it, your device's advertising identifier is passed to RevenueCat and Meta so a subscription can be matched to the advertisement that led to it.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

  • Your location. Odyvel never asks for it. Your destination is a city you type, not a place you are.
  • Your contacts, photos, or microphone. The App asks for none of them.
  • Your payment details. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see or store a card number.
  • Health, financial, or other sensitive categories.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To generate and order the lessons for your destination.
  • To count down to your trip, on screen and in your Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets.
  • To send the daily reminder, if you allowed notifications. Notifications are scheduled on your device and their content never leaves it.
  • To carry your progress between your own devices when you are signed in.
  • To operate and renew your subscription.
  • To understand, in aggregate, which parts of Odyvel people use, so we can improve them.
  • To measure advertising, only within the permission you gave.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your progress to train any model.

5. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

5.1 AI and Content Generation

Odyvel uses Google Gemini, through Firebase AI Logic, to research a destination and write its lessons. Your search terms and the destination you picked are sent to Google for this purpose. Your name, your email, and your progress are not.

Generated destination content is shared. Once a city's lessons exist in a language, every traveller going there receives the same copy, which is why the second person to pick a city opens a finished path in seconds. That shared content describes the city, never you.

5.2 Infrastructure

Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Crashlytics, Analytics, App Check) hosts your account, your synced progress, city artwork and phrase audio.

5.3 Payments

RevenueCat and the Apple App Store handle subscriptions. RevenueCat holds your subscription status against your account identifier. We never receive or store your payment details.

5.4 Analytics and Advertising

Firebase Analytics records in-app events against your account identifier. Meta receives app installs and app opens through the Meta SDK, and receives subscription events from RevenueCat server to server, so we can tell which advertising works. On iOS, what reaches Meta depends entirely on the answer you gave to the tracking prompt, and you can change that answer at any time in Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking. Meta's own automatic event logging is switched off in Odyvel.

5.5 Authentication

Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In, when you choose to use them.

5.6 Anonymous Destination Counts

Odyvel counts how many trips have been started to each city, and in which month, so a future destination list can be ordered by where people actually go. So that this can never be traced back to you, the receipt is a one-way hash of your account identifier, the city, and the moment the trip was created. There is no way to read a destination back out of it, and the counts are never joined to your account.

6. Permissions and Why They Are Asked

  • Notifications. Asked once, so Odyvel can send the daily nudge and remind you before a free trial converts. Decline it and every other part of the App works exactly the same.
  • Tracking (iOS). Asked once, for advertising measurement only. Decline it and every other part of the App works exactly the same.

7. Your Rights and Choices

  • Tracking: iOS Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.
  • Notifications: two switches in your Odyvel profile, plus the system permission in iOS Settings.
  • Analytics: turn off analytics collection in your Odyvel profile.
  • Your data: you may request a copy of, correction of, or the deletion of your personal information. See Account & Data Deletion, or write to us at the address below.
  • Your subscription: manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals and your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you hold the rights granted by the GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection to processing, and the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. Where we rely on a legal basis, it is the performance of our contract with you for delivering the course and your subscription, your consent for advertising attribution and notifications, and our legitimate interest in improving the App and in answering support requests. If you are in California, you hold the rights granted by the CCPA as amended. We do not sell personal information under either law.

8. Data Retention

  • On your device: kept for as long as Odyvel is installed.
  • Under your account: kept while the account exists, and erased when you delete it.
  • Subscription records: kept by RevenueCat and Apple for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet accounting and tax obligations.
  • Attribution events: retained by Meta according to its own schedule, which we do not control.
  • Shared destination content and the anonymous counts: not tied to you, and retained after a deletion.

9. International Transfers

Hysa Tech is based in Tirana, Albania. Our providers, including Google, Apple, RevenueCat and Meta, process data on infrastructure that may be located outside your country, including in the United States. Where such transfers occur, they rely on appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or other legally recognised mechanisms.

10. Children's Privacy

Odyvel is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Data at rest in Firebase is encrypted by Google, and access rules restrict every record under your account to your session alone. Data on your device is protected by the iOS sandbox and by device encryption. Access to production systems is limited to Hysa Tech. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where the change affects how your data is handled, note it in the App. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
